Taj MahalForeign airlines like British Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa and Cathay Pacific will now promote Indian destinations. The government has issued an instruction to all airlines for promoting Indian heritage and culture on board. Non-compliance would cost dearly as these airlines may not get seat entitlements. Aviation ministry has devised this unique method to promote ‘Incredible India’.

Nearly 100 foreign airlines are operating flights to various Indian destinations. Read more

Monuments of Sarnath

Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon was once a radiating centre of light throughout the Buddhist world for 1500 years. The place is situated only 8 kilometer away from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

In the third century B.C., Asoka, the Great Maurya Emperor was the first to construct a number of monuments at Sarnath, which included the famous pillar with lion-capital, the stone railing, the Dharmarajika Stupa and the Dhamekh Stupa. Read more

Maharana Pratap Sagar-Pong Dam

Maharana Pratap Sagar (also known as Pong Dam Reservoir) is a reservoir named in the honour of the patriot Maharana Pratap .

It is located in the Kangra district of the state of Himachal Pradesh, in India.

The sagar was made a reservoir in the 1970s by the construction of a dam in a wetland zone in the Siwalik Hills at an altitude of 350 to 500 m where it is hot in the summers and mild in the winters.

Surrounding the reservoir are rugged ridges and mountain streams cutting through valleys. Read more

Greater Noida Night Safari Coming From April

Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is planning to develop night safari in its recreational green sector on the lines of similar zoological gardens in Singapore and China. The proposed night safari will cover an area of 250 acres and cost approximately Rs. 276 crores. Read more

Air Deccan Spreads International Wings

Low cost carrier Deccan Aviation, now a unit of Vijay Mallya’s UB Group, has sought government’s permission to start operations on overseas routes including the United States, Britain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal and Saudi Arabia from August this year.

Air Deccan will operates on the low-cost model on the short haul overseas routes while its major stakeholder, the UB Group, which controls Kingfisher Air, will operate as a full service carrier on the long haul routes to the United States and England as and when it gets necessary government approval.
