No Parking Facility in Community Centers

A Community centre is meant to provide better facility and more space for family functions and peaceful gathering but the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) community hall across Delhi has become a problem for the nearby residents.

Most of the community halls do not have parking space and the visitors and organisers have to park their vehicles on colony roads which lead to long traffic jams in the area, especially during the marriage season.

Besides, during the function tent owners place generators on the roads which create noise and air pollution in and around the area causing inconvenience to the residents as well as passersby. Read more

MCD Bans Sale of Cut Fruit, Sugarcane Juice and Water To Protect People From Water-Borne Diseases

Health department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has banned the sale of cut fruit, sugarcane juice and water by unlicensed people.

Every year, the health department bans crushers from April 15 to September 15 to protect people from water-borne diseases like dysentery, diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and jaundice.

Anyone seen selling these items will be penalized under the Delhi Municipal Corporation (DMC) Act and their trollies will also be seized. Read more

84 Percent Of Indian Business Pay Bribes

A new report on fraud has now confirmed what we all knew. More than 84 percent of the respondents in a survey have said that business in India pay bribes or facilitation payments to get their work done.

More than 60 percent of the executives who replied said that their companies experienced fraud in the last two years.

This figure has risen significantly from just 39 percent in its last survey in 2006. Read more

Measures To Elminate Child Labour In India

The Child labour cell is entrusted with the responsibility of formulation and implementation of policy and programmes for tackling problems of child labour. The Cell is respondible for funding and monitoring of the projects taken up under the scheme of National Child Labour Projects.

The cell also renders financial assistance to voluntary organizations for taking up action-oriented projects for child labour. In addition, the cell monitors the enforcement of child labour (prohibition and regulation) Act, 1986 and organizes meetings of various committees, workshops, advisory boards, etc. Read more
