A total of 55 SEZs of all categories will come up in Gurgaon in times to come. 35 SEZs have already been accorded formal approval, while in-principal approval has been granted to 18 SEZ and the rest two are awaiting approval.
About fifty percent of SEZs of all categories coming up in Gurgaon would be in the IT sector.
This in effect would generate millions of jobs
The state government has also decided to set up community colleges and professional training institutes to train the local youths on lifestyle and professional skills to take advantage of the upsurge in job opportunity.
Upcoming IT SEZs include DLF, Raheja, Bestech, Parsavnath and others. NASSCOM study says that Gurgaon currently is the highest creator of job opportunities not only in India but the world.
Presently about 2.5 lakh people work in the IT industry that includes BPOs, Call Centers, software and hardware development companies in Gurgaon.
Surprisingly 50 percent of these jobs opportunities came up in NCR (National Capital Region) and 70 percent of this in Gurgaon.
To enable local youth for taking advantage of the upsurge, community college in Gurgaon are being planned where the less educated youths would be trained in English language and accent and personality development.
